Speech during the Island Municipality of San Jose Religious Coronation Night
March 16, 2026
San Jose Romblon

It is a true blessing and a deep privilege to join you all on this momentous Religious Night devoted to honoring our Patron St. Joseph, the humble, faithful man chosen by God to be the earthly father of Jesus and an enduring model of love, faith, and dedication.

Tonight, as we gather in celebration and prayer, we are reminded of St. Joseph’s extraordinary journey, a journey marked not by grandeur or fame, but by quiet courage and steadfasrdt commitment to his sacred role.

In a world often drawn to loud declarations and grand gestures, St. Joseph teaches us the power of faithful perseverance, of carrying out God’s will with a heart fully open and a spirit deeply surrendered.

I had the profound opportunity to visit the House of St. Joseph in Jerusalem, the Holy Land. Standing in that sacred place, surrounded by centuries of devotion, history, and faith, I was moved beyond words.

I took a moment to pose by the Monument of St. Joseph, a moment that felt like standing beside a silent guardian who invites us all to trust, to endure, and to love without hesitation. That experience deeply inspired me because St. Joseph’s life was not one of ease.

Imagine the uncertainty he faced, a young man entrusted with the care of the Son of God, tasked with protecting and providing for a holy family amid a world that likely judged and questioned him. Yet, he responded with a heart that did not falter or shrink away.

His devotion was unyielding, it was a deep, abiding faith that propelled him onward despite every challenge. St. Joseph teaches us that true strength lies not in loudness or force, but in faithful, persistent love.

Though unseen by many, his presence was pivotal in the story of salvation. And just as he quietly fulfilled his mission, often in the shadows, we too are called to live with that same quiet courage in our own lives, whether in our families, at work, or in the community.
